Objective To investigate the distribution of serum folate， vitamin B12 and ferritin in patients with schizophrenia. Methods Blood samples were collected from 1 042 patients with schizophrenia. Levels of serum folate， vitamin B12 and ferritin were detected by electrochemiluminescence immunoassay. Results The prevalence of low vitamin B12， folate and ferritin levels in schizophrenia patients was generally higher than 5%. And the prevalence of low folate was as high as 38.29%. The prevalence of low vitamin B12 was about 18.14%. There were gender differences in levels of folate (t=-5.83，P＜ 0.01)， and age differences in levels of vitamin B12 (t=2.08，P＜ 0.05) in patients with schizophrenia. Conclusions The prevalence of low serum vitamin B12， folate and ferritin levels in patients with chronic schizophrenia is high， which need to be actively concerned about.
