    Abstract:

Compassion-focused therapy( CFT) is an increasingly popular psychotherapy that is considered to be the third wave of psychotherapy and has received widespread attention in recent years. A growing body of clinical practice evidence suggests that CFT has a proven effect in relieving symptoms such as depression, anxiety, shame, and self-criticism etc. This article reviews the origin, theoretical basis, therapeutic effectiveness, intervention methods of CFT, and it looks forward to future research. It also hopes to provide a basis for future researchers to promote mental health intervention.
