Pain is a common problem in patients with dementia， which can lead to behavioral and psychological symptoms in severe cases. The pain assessment in dementia needs to combine self-report with observational assessment. This paper reviews the self-report and observational assessment of dementia pain， so as to provide reference for objective evaluation of the effect of dementia pain intervention.
