Journal of Neuroscience and Mental Health was approved in 2000 by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China and General Administration of Press and Publication (now the National Press and Publication Administration) as a publicly distributed academic journal in the fields of neurology, psychiatry, and mental health, both domestically and internationally. It was officially founded in 2001 and has been included by the Institute of Source Journals for Chinese Scientific and Technical Papers and Citations since 2006.

Adhering to the Party’s publishing policies and the guidelines for health work, this journal follows the principles of disciplinary development and is committed to improving its quality and expanding its social impact. It upholds the principle of combining popularization with advancement, aiming to promote academic exchanges both domestically and internationally, and to guide scientific research and clinical practice. The primary readership (and contributors) includes scientific researchers, physicians, and mental (psychological) health professionals in the fields of neurology and psychiatry.
